CadaverDogs.org was founded as a specialized division of LoveMyDog.com with a singular, solemn purpose: to provide answers when they are needed most. We saw a critical need for a higher, unified standard in human remains detection. Our organization was built on the belief that every search deserves the highest level of professionalism and scientific rigor. We bridge the gap between grieving families and law enforcement agencies by providing expertly trained K9 teams who work with unwavering dedication and respect for the mission.
Our commitment to integrity and unbiased validation is absolute. To ensure the highest level of objectivity, all certifications for our K9 teams are issued exclusively through the International Council for Detection Dog Certifiers (ICDDC).
This partnership is crucial because it removes any potential conflict of interest. We do not certify our own teams. Instead, every dog and handler must pass rigorous, double-blind evaluations administered by ICDDC’s independent experts. These standards are not arbitrary; they are built on decades of forensic science and proven fieldwork, guaranteeing that any team we deploy has met a stringent, internationally recognized benchmark for reliability and accuracy.
By adhering to this third-party standard, we provide unequivocal assurance to law enforcement, disaster response agencies, and families that our teams are not just trained—they are proven effective under the most demanding conditions.
To train and certify the world’s most reliable human remains detection teams, providing them as a professional resource to law enforcement and disaster response agencies. We exist to support communities in crisis by bringing answers, closure, and a measure of peace to those affected by tragedy.
To be the unequivocal national standard for human remains detection, where every family of a missing person and every law enforcement agency has access to certified, ethical, and effective K9 resources. We envision a future where the science of scent detection is universally respected and integrated into all critical recovery operations.
Lambros Avgerinos is one of the world’s foremost experts in canine behavior and scent detection. Raised inside an Auburn University veterinary medicine canine research facility by specialist parents, Lambros has spent over 32 years and more than 150,000 hours immersed in pack behavior, scent theory, and behavioral analysis.
He is the founder of Love My Dog Inc., The Dog Coach, and the International Council for Detection Dog Certifiers (ICDDC), where he is building the gold standard in deployment and certification protocols for detection canines.
Through CadaverDogs.org, Lambros leads search and recovery missions, coordinating with local governments and the FBI after mass casualty events like the July 2025 Texas floods. His goal is to restore ethics and dignity to disaster response, advocating for equal treatment in search deployments for all people, regardless of background.
His work also extends to providing life-saving medical alert dogs through initiatives like DiabeticAlertDogs.org and certified mold detection canines through MoldDogs, often at no cost to those in need. Lambros’ training programs are rooted in science, compassion, and practical outcomes, bridging the gap between elite-level performance and real-world accessibility.
